The EU-AI Act is moving to become the world’s first rules of AI, once approved. Its impact especially on countries of the Global South was the topic of a policy workshop convened by our Fellow Gaurav Sharma. Now the full report is online.

As part of their study trip, a delegation from the German-Hungarian Institute at the Mathias Corvinus Collegium visited the Academy. The federal system of the Federal Republic of Germany and the importance of the federal states in building international relations were intensively discussed.

The topic “Disinformation” was the focus of the Summer Academy 2022. Alexandra Geese, Sarah Kreps and Sergei Guriev were among the speakers. Their and other lectures can now be listened to online.

The Academy was a cooperation partner of the International Security Forum Bonn 2022 organised by the Center for Advanced Security, Strategic and Integration Studies (CASSIS). On 28 September 2022, a meeting took place at the Academy between a delegation led by Principal Deputy National Cyber Director Kemba Walden and experts from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The meeting was hosted by the Academy’s Executive Director Dr Mayssoun Zein Al Din.

On 24 September 2022, the Academy’s Academic Board met. The international and interdisciplinary committee decides on the awarding of fellowships and advises the Academy on scientific issues.
