In the immediate surroundings of the Academy there are numerous famed institutions and figures of interest for discussions with the Fellows. 150 international and internationally connected institutions and organisations have their seat in Bonn. The city, with its ca. 20 organisations of the United Nations and their roughly 1000 staff, is the most important UN location in Germany. Bonn is Germany’s centre of competence for international cooperation and sustainable development. In the immediate vicinity of the Academy there are many leading organisations that support and connect science and research, as well as federal ministries, political associations, thinktanks and cultural institutions.t.

The outstanding infrastructure and the central position in Europe make it possible for Fellows to meet and work together on joint projects with partners in Europe quickly and directly, for example in Berlin, Brussels, Paris or Amsterdam.
